Mis Manos Montessori School is seeking a caring, observant, and dependable Primary Assistant Guide to support our 3–6 classroom community. Our school is rooted in respect for the child, intentional preparation of the environment, and a warm, collaborative culture where guides and assistants work together to create a peaceful, purposeful space for learning.
About the Role
The Assistant Guide plays a vital part in maintaining the flow, beauty, and harmony of the classroom. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with young children, values Montessori principles, and thrives in a calm, organized environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Guide in maintaining an orderly, engaging Montessori environment
- Model grace, courtesy, and respectful communication
- Observe children and provide gentle, developmentally appropriate support
- Assist with classroom preparation, materials upkeep, and daily routines
- Help guide children during work cycles, transitions, and outdoor time
- Collaborate with the Lead Guide to ensure consistency and alignment with Montessori philosophy
- Communicate with warmth and professionalism with staff and families
Qualifications
- Genuine love and respect for children ages 3–6
- Interest in Montessori philosophy (experience preferred but not required)
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and grounded in a busy classroom
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Fluent in Spanish (Preferred)
- Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to supporting the Lead Guide
- Ability to lift, bend, and move comfortably in a classroom environment
- Montessori assistant training or willingness to complete training (school may support this)
