Mis Manos Montessori School is seeking a thoughtful, dependable, and child‑centered Lower Elementary Assistant Guide to support our 6–9 classroom community. About the Role
The Assistant Guide works closely with the Lead Guide to support the daily flow of the classroom, nurture student independence, and help maintain a beautiful, orderly environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with elementary‑aged children, appreciates Montessori philosophy, and thrives in a collaborative, purposeful setting.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Guide in maintaining a calm, engaging Montessori environment
- Model grace, courtesy, and respectful communication
- Assist children with work choices, conflict resolution, and classroom routines
- Prepare and maintain materials, classroom organization, and daily activities
- Observe students and provide gentle, developmentally appropriate guidance
- Supervise children during transitions, outdoor time, and lunch
- Collaborate with the Lead Guide to ensure consistency and alignment with Montessori principles
- Communicate with warmth and professionalism with staff and families
Qualifications
- Genuine love and respect for children ages 6–9
- Interest in Montessori philosophy (experience preferred but not required)
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and grounded in a dynamic classroom
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Fluent in Spanish (preferred)
- Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to supporting the Lead Guide
- Ability to move comfortably in a classroom environment and support active learners
- Montessori assistant training or willingness to complete training (school may support this)
